NOLA Alumni show Boston Pride at Celtics game
April 25, 2013
About 20 Jumbos from the New Orleans community reunited in a show of Boston Pride at the Celtics/Hornets game on March 20.
The alumni had a private section for the event and enjoyed a special visit by the Hornets dance team, The Honeybees. The group mingled over drinks and snacks at the game, which was “one of the most highly attended events” the chapter has had, says alumni volunteer Irene Pallais, A06.

Pallais aims to “create a Tufts presence and community in New Orleans,” through these sort of events in relaxed settings. She is especially looking forward to her next event, a NOLA Wine and Food Experience in May.
Of the game, Pallais says she was delighted with the number of Jumbos in attendance and that the group stuck around for the whole game to enjoy each other’s company.
The Celtics were defeated “with a one-point win by the Hornets,” Pallais says. “It was an amazing game until the very last second.”
