On April 19, the class of 2014 toasted to an important milestone: the Halfway There Celebration. Co-sponsored by the Sophomore Class Council and Tufts Alumni, the afternoon was an opportunity for students to reflect on the past two years and to also look ahead.
“I often feel as though I lose sight of the ‘big picture’ of my Tufts experience amidst deadlines and papers,” says sophomore Ada Bernstein, A14. “Halfway There gives us a chance to recognize both how far we’ve come and how many opportunities we can still take advantage of.”
Halfway There is also a reminder to the sophomore class that Tufts can play a part in their lives long after they’ve left the Hill. Bernstein says, “I'd love to remain involved in the Tufts community after I graduate. I'm not exactly sure how this involvement will manifest—whether through attending alumni events, being a resource for current students, or simply coming back for frequent visits—but I'm confident that I won't lose touch.” Meagan Edmonds, A14, looks forward to remaining a dedicated Jumbo. “Having these traditions during our undergrad years is a really nice way to encourage continued connection to Tufts as alumni.”
