Symphony Hall summons alumni for Tufts Night at Pops!

June 05, 2012

It was an evening of American pride and school spirit at Symphony Hall as students, faculty, and alumni came together for the 112th Tufts Night at Pops on Thursday, May 17. The event, sponsored by Tufts Alumni, featured performances by student a cappella groups, as well as a slideshow put to music entitled “Visions of America: A Photo Symphony” by photo-historian Joseph Sohm.

Red, white, and blue balloons fill Symphony Hall as an all-American Tufts Night at Pops comes to a close.

In addition to the music and festivities, several reunion classes were recognized for their generous giving over the past several years. The Class of 1952 brought home the Participation Trophy, with 48% of the class giving annual gifts, while the Tufts Fund Trophy went to the Class of 1982 for putting together the largest total gift of any class this year with $316,922. A whopping $6,263,251 given since their last reunion earned the Class of 1967 the coveted Class Gift Trophy, awarded for the largest cumulative gift given by any class since its last reunion. Eight classes (1962, 1967, 1972, 1977, 1982, 1987, 1992 and 1997) also secured $25,000 scholarships in their respective names by meeting the Everyone Counts Challenge, a push to acquire 50 new donors prior to coming together this year.
