Alumni Trustees

- Approval of policies on faculty appointment, promotion, tenure, and dismissal.
- Approval of the annual budget and tuition, and monitoring of the university's financial condition.
- Authorization of new construction, renovation, and upkeep.
- Approval of all earned and honorary degrees.

Alumni Council
Members of the Tufts University Alumni Council are elected to represent the alumni body in the governance of the Tufts University Alumni Association. All persons who have received a degree from any school or program of Tufts University, as well as those former students who pursued an approved course of study for at least one year are automatically members of the Tufts University Alumni Association, without charge.
Alumni Council Members research and implement important initiatives through a network of regional and international chapters and standing committees: address issues such as career support and networking, Alumni Weekend, Homecoming, continuing education, alumni regional activities and the nomination of highly qualified candidates to the university’s Board of Trustees and the Alumni Council.
Nominees for the Council must be a graduate of the schools whose positions are being filled in a particular year. They should possess a willingness to serve Tufts as a whole and have a record of consistent service and financial support to the University.
