Tufts alumni rediscover, reconnect, and renew their connections during Alumni Weekend 2009
June 11, 2009
Tufts graduates were invited to rediscover, reconnect, and renew their connections to friends and to their alma mater during the annual Tufts Alumni Weekend celebration from May 14 - 17, 2009 in Medford, Mass.
It was a special time for those celebrating a reunion year, and it was fun for alumni of any age to enjoy all-class events, such as the tradition of 109th annual Tufts Night at Pops on Thursday, the glamorous "Cirque d'Elephant" on Friday evening, and the festive Alumni Family Picnic on Saturday afternoon.
Other Alumni Weekend 2009 events included Super Seminars, the "55 & Over" Reunion celebration, the second annual Jumbo Love Breakfast, the Cavalcade of Classes, and receptions for the School of Engineering Alumni and shared interest groups such as Tufts Daily, Black Alumni Association, Asian-American Alumni, LBGT Alumni, and Returning Students Alumni.
Sol Gittleman gave a special Super Seminar "Keeping up with God in the 21st Century: Getting to Today's Students" on the occasion of his 75th Birthday, and cake and champagne were served in celebration after the lecture. Hundreds of students, staff, alumni, and administrators joined the festivities.
Saturday reunion parties and the "Top O' the Hill Tribute" candlelight procession led into Sunday's graduation festivities.
