Teeing up for Tufts Hockey
June 18, 2004
Eighty-nine golfers turned out for the Friends of Tufts Hockey Eleventh Annual Golf Extravaganza on June 18, 2004 at the Sandy Burr Country Club in Wayland, MA. Enthusiastic hockey alumni of all class years and Tufts hockey supporters arrived bright and early for a fun day of golf and camaraderie.
The misty air and cloudy skies did not deter the winning foursome of Al Feinberg, A61, his son, Mike Feinberg, A86, Brian Golden, A89, and incoming freshman Pat Sullivan from finishing with a seventeen under par in this best ball scramble format.
Players were also competing for Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin. Winners included Dan Kraft, A87, and Randy Goldstein, A95. After playing eighteen holes, golfers filled up on a hearty lunch as prizes were awarded to first, second, and third place foursomes and raffle winners were announced.
"I was pleased with this year's large turnout. This is the first time we've held the tournament in June instead of during Alumni Weekend in May and we have seen positive results. We hope to see even more growth in the future," said Ben Sands, A54, one of the organizers of the annual tournament.
