Homecoming 2003 was a resounding success by many standards. Record crowds packed J-field and tailgaters' village sold out weeks in advance of game day with the longest wait list yet.

Alumni found many reasons to return over the weekend. Friday night the Jumbo Club awarded Bob Kraft of the New England Patriots the 2003 Distinguished Achievement Award while the class of 2003 celebrated their first return to campus at Dewick-MacPhie. While some sought career advice at the Alumni Career Services Open House, others were entertained in the Chapel by the Bubs, Jills and Mates.

Despite the rain on Saturday morning, alumni converged on J-field where twelve alumni groups and organizations shared food and information under the Jumbo Tent. Cars and tents packed Tailgaters' Village while Kid's Corner was abuzz with the arts and crafts activities of many little Jumbos. That evening the Asian, Latino, Africana; and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgendered Centers all hosted alumni gatherings on campus.

The fans who braved the wet weather were rewarded for their loyalty as the football team advanced to 3-0 beating the Bowdoin Polar Bears 26-7.

Thanks to all who helped make this Homecoming a great event. See you in 2004!
