Please join all members of the Tufts community as we celebrate tradition and achievement. Tuftonia's Day recognizes Tufts’ birthday every year on the Medford/Somerville campus with a carnival, live performances, food, drink, and fireworks.

This year, in honor of the 150th anniversary of Tufts University Alumni Association , the event will also include a special concert by Peking and the Mystics (Beelzebubs alumni), a birthday celebration for Tufts Alumni, and a ceremony looking back at the great history of Tufts Alumni.

A carnival and festival for students and alumni will begin at 6:30pm on Fletcher field. At the same time, alumni are invited to attend special events in Cabot Hall, the site of the Fletcher School.

Features of the alumni event are:

6:30 - 7:30 pm: A special alumni reception at the Hall of Flags in Cabot Hall

7:30 - 9 pm: The Alumni Ceremony, a celebration of Tuftonia’s Day in the past and present. Members of the Tufts Alumni leadership team will give remarks, followed by a video of the history of the alumni association, after which, Peking and the Mystics – an a capella group of Beelzebubs alumni – will give a concert. All Alumni Ceremony events will take place in ASEAN Auditorium in Cabot Hall

9:00 pm: Students and alumni will meet on the Carmichael Quad for the 150th Birthday Cake and Ice Cream Celebration

9:15 pm: The annual and much-anticipated Tuftonia’s Day fireworks show on Carmichael Quad

Come celebrate the Jumbo Spirit! This promises to be a unique celebration of Tufts traditions, new and old, for students, families, and seasoned alumni, and we hope to see you there!

New this year, Tufts Programming Board is planning “Traditions Week” – a week honoring Tufts traditions – leading up to Tuftonia’s Day. All alumni are invited to attend the Tug of War contest on Monday, April 26th at 12pm on Fletcher Field, and the Spring Sing on Wednesday, April 28th at 7pm in Goddard Chapel. No registration is necessary for these separate events.
