Description

Tufts Alumni Houston invites you to a one-hour private tour of the International Quilt Festival. The International Quilt Festival, produced by Quilts, Inc., is the largest, annual quilt show in the United States. For its 35th anniversary, you’ll see more than 2,000 great quilts, dolls, and pieces of fabric art. You do not have to be a quilter to appreciate this great American folk art that has evolved into modern art, embracing all aspects of the art from the traditional Civil War themes to mixed-media.

The tour is being held on the festival’s Preview Night, in order to avoid the crowds. After the tour, there will be time to view the exhibits, as this is also the best night to meet the award-winning quilters and talk with them about their quilts.

Parking/directions: Parking is available on street lots, underground parking at Discovery Green across the street, and garage parking at the Hilton Americas, 1600 Lamar Street. Due to the size of the festival, please allow additional time to find parking.

Meet in front of Door E at 7 pm
