Travel-Learn Program
Travel-Learn: Hiking & Paddling in Vermont
When: October 16, 2009 - October 18, 2009 (iCal)
Description
Join us for a weekend getaway in Stowe. The only Vermont location highlighted in 100 Places to See in Your Lifetime: America the Beautiful from LIFE Books, Stowe is located at the foot of Mt. Mansfield, Vermont's highest peak in the Green Mountains, and is an internationally-renowned area. The town offers endless opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors, including hiking, paddling, mountain biking, golfing, or simply strolling along riverside paths or through the village itself.
We have carefully selected the Stoweflake Mountain Resort & Spa, a beautiful mountain retreat with quintessential New England charm. The resort features wonderful accommodations, beautiful grounds, a world-class spa, executive golf course, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, tennis courts, fitness center and much more. Professor George Ellmore will accompany our group and offer commentaries during hiking, and will also lead those interested in the canoeing option. If hiking and paddling are not of interest, there are many options to explore on your own, indoors and out – antiquing, photography, exploring Vermont’s arts and crafts and its rolling hills, or simply relaxing at the resort and taking advantage of its many amenities.
