Description

Tufts Active Citizens of New York (TACNY) invites you to the Fourth Annual Active Citizenship Dinner: ‘Courses’ on our NYC community.

Spend an evening discussing current hot topics that relate to New Yorkers and the community we live in with fellow alumni and field professionals. Throughout the four 'courses' of this meal, you will have the opportunity to network and learn from four guest speakers, who have dedicated themselves to addressing a variety of issues that pertain to NYC and New Yorkers.

  • Kerry Birnbach, IVAH program coordinator, NYC Coalition Against Hunger
  • Haidee Cabusora, staff attorney, The Financial Clinic
  • Lawrence Carter-Long, executive director, Disabilities Network of NYC
  • A representative from Publicolor

Similar to a progressive dinner, you will eat a new course of the meal at each of the four guest speakers’ tables resulting in four different and fascinating conversations about issues that NYC faces in the areas of: poverty and NYC’s working poor; advocacy and inclusion efforts for disabled New Yorkers; policies and outreach to end hunger in NYC; and programs focused on reengaging NYC students in their educational and career prospects.
